The Butterfly Butterfly brings about the transformation in our life. Through Butterfly energy we pass from the cocoon into the larva stages, and on into the birth of spirit that we may soar in our freedom of self. They remind us that life is a dance, not to take things so seriously. Butterfly represents a need for change and greater freedom, and at the same time it represents courage: one requires courage to carry out the changes necessary in the process of growth.
Sculptor Agelio Batle honors some of nature's most exquisite forms in this series of graphite objects. His reverence for organic shapes grew from formal studies in biology and art, but countless hours in the wilderness gave the artist an intimate understanding of nature's geometry. The objects in this series are a testament to that insight.
Batle sees these objects as sculpture, but they are also fully functional drawing tools. All of their surfaces can write!
