"Iro" means "color" in Japanese. At Iro Design, we create and produce
colorful and imaginative lines of fashion accessories. We create each
piece by hand-painting fabric on a studio bench with colors we mix and
blend ourselves. Although we produce thematic lines, each individual
piece of fabric is a unique creation. By working with custom colors and
often painting wet color on wet color, we are able to produce shading
and tonal effects more often seen in studio watercolors than in fashion
fabrics.
Iro products are created with natural fabrics -- crepe, chiffon, organza and habotai silks and cotton twill -- colored with natural dyes.
