Karen Bernthal - KIRKÉ Design Studio

Artist's Statement

Karen Bernthal's interest in clothing design started after graduating from college with an art major. Deciding to be an independent artist, she formed her Company Kirké Design Studio, Inc. in 1984. Her label Kirké has been featured in fine specialty stores such as Nordstrom, local boutiques such as The Bibelot Shops, as well as wearable art galleries like Bellagio, in Ashville NC and Changes in Portland OR. She also sells directly from her well-equipped showroom and studio in Northeast Minneapolis, where she is currently working on her line of wearable art tops and sweaters.
