Jeannine and Charles McKenzie
Artist's Statement
In 1992 Jeannine's husband Charles joined her to form a partnership. Jeannine was the creative
force on the team, having begun as a watercolorist and painting for a number of years before
becoming a designer of jewelry. Since 1974, her jewelry won numerous awards at some of the
finest juried shows. Through the years her techniques have included casting, electroforming,
etching, and fabrication. Her jewelry is fabricated from sterling silver, copper, brass and
bronze. The pearls used in the earrings are all freshwater pearls.
Jeannine expressed her feelings about her work when she stated, "I've always had a deep love
for jewelry and it seemed right for me to express my creative drive to design and make jewelry.
To me, designing in metal is like playing - it is fun, exciting and adventuresome." Her work
is displayed in over 65 galleries across the U.S.
