Artist's Statement
Valery's goal has always been to combine art and practicality. Majoring in Industrial Design at Pratt Institute taught her high ideals in the union of art and function. Now she's pleased to produce a product that is a highly functional garment as well as an original painting.

Fun and playfulness are important parts of her life and her shawls and scarves embody both. These pieces can be hung on the wall as well as used to enhance an outfit. The look of cascading down the front of a dress is slenderizing - a much desired effect in American fashion. Unique, stylish poncho is great over a turtle neck in the winter or low cut dress or camisole in the warmer months. No side seams - can be tied at the bottom edge or left open to flow like a butterfly wing.
